Introducing the New Otis Foaming Bore Cleaner

Otis’ newest addition to our line of cleaners, lubricants and protectants launched this year at the 2018 SHOT Show after our customers voiced their desire for a Foaming Bore Cleaner. We were more than happy to oblige.

There is something so satisfying about using a foaming bore cleaner. Knowing that there’s a chemical reaction going on in there not only results in a clean barrel, but I can appreciate the psychology behind it as well. It just feels cleaner! Disclaimer: I also happen to be a scrubbing bubbles addict.

The “spray and walk away” concept isn’t too bad either, let the expanding foam and time do the hard work in cleaning your firearm. Our Foaming Bore Cleaner easily cleans your bore, no elbow grease required. Simply spray in the breech end and the foam will expand to fill the bore and ensure complete product coverage. Let it sit until the foam breaks down and then simply remove it using an Otis Breech-to-Muzzle® cleaning kit or Ripcord®. Letting it sit between 15 minutes and an hour should do just fine, depending on how dirty your firearm is. We don’t recommend you leave it overnight.

Our foaming bore cleaner is non-ammonia based, meaning it won’t stink up your house with a toxic chemical smell. This also means that if you’re looking for that tell-tale blue tinge to let you know it’s time to clean out the broken down foam, you won’t be seeing as much of a color change.

So here’s the breakdown:

Instructions:

1) Make sure firearm is unloaded

2) Place in gun vice or lay on horizontal surface with breech slightly higher than muzzle

*Note: as foam starts to work, this will reduce chance of fouling seeping into action

3) Spray Foaming Bore Cleaner in breech end until bore is full

4) Let sit until foam broken down

5) Remove and clean using an Otis Breech-to-Muzzle® cleaning kit or Ripcord®

6) Be sure to follow up with a lubricant and protectant
